There is an abundance of restaurants that serve stylish Scottish cuisine that is cooked with fresh local produce, one thing you will notice in Edinburgh is that the competition is so completive that the chefs and restaurants not only cook good food but they also cook and serve with flair.

Manchester UK – Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Football

Manchester is one of the most fashionable and vibrant cities in the UK. Not only is Manchester currently home to the best and richest football clubs on the planet, it has a distinct culture that gives it a quite different character to most UK cities. There are some exclusive restaurants and bars in Manchester that rankl among the best in Britain. Manchester Hotels are also cut from a similar trendy cloth.

Here are five of the best things about Manchester – we recommend that you sample it at some point.

Football - Manchester United and Manchester City are two of the biggest football clubs in the world, and they are both contained in one city!

Music - The Smiths, The Stone Roses, New Order and the Happy Mondays all hail from Manchester. Each has left a lasting impression on our culture.

Hotels in Manchester - if you’re looking for something that little bit special the The Lowry is the hotel fore you. Named after the famous painter from the city, this hotel is truly special. Even the slightly cheaper Manchester Hotels (such as the Ramada) are pretty cool

Restaurants - there is a wide range of restaurants available for you to select from in Manchester. It very hard to pick out a few, but our favourites are:

Bars - Again picking out a few select pubs in Manchester is a very difficult task – we wouldn’t miss Walrus in the northern quarter, it has a bright, cosmopolitan atmosphere and a great cocktail menu, as well as serving tasty Japanese food. Another great option is Lammars which has gone from a trendy word-of-mouth venue to one of the busiest pubs in the city.

These are just five short reasons to visit Manchester, if there is anything that you would like to add that you feel should be experienced in Manchester then please leave a comment!

Brighton Holiday Season

brightonBrighton has been a great holiday destination for over 100 years now, in the last couple of decades the holiday population has declined as the price of traveling abroad got cheaper and cheaper, now with the credit crunch it looks like the fortunes of Brighton could be on the up again as more and more Brits are staying at home, not only has the credit crunch put people out of jobs it has also let the Euro catch up in value, for that reason it is now a lot cheaper to travel to the likes of Brighton & Blackpool respectfully. If the British weather is good to us then there is no reason to grumble either with their being plenty to do and hundreds of good quality hotels brighton for families and party goers.

Scandinavian Travel Tips

scandinavia

Scandinavian Countries Explained

Here are some useful tips if you ever decide to go on a Scandinavian ferries cruise or if you ever step foot in any of the countries on the Scandinavian Peninsula.  The true Nordic countries are Norway, Sweden and Denmark which recognize each other as parts of Scandinavia – which reflect the cultural similarity and history, Although the countries have their own independence they are proud of the Scandinavian heritage and are somewhat offended when other countries get mentioned to be part of the  group. Sometimes Iceland, Faroe Islands and Finland are also mentioned of being part of Scandinavia.
Sweden, Finland and Norway is recognized as being Scandinavia in Germany while in Great Britain it is Sweden, Norway and Denmark that is recognized and often the likes of Iceland, Finland  and even Greenland are often included as being part.
So the next time you are on a ferry trip to any of the main 3 Scandinavian countries beware these meanings are taken offense to quite often and especially the British terms of the district.
